The 2000's ushered in a new millennium of change with an ever expanding lineup of television programming. Cable channels began to produce their own series and with an onslaught of reality-based TV shows from the big four networks, primetime faced a shortage of well written sitcoms and dramas. However all was not lost with big sitcom hits like Everybody Loves Raymond and The Drew Carey Show and drama series like House and The West Wing. Towards the end of the decade however, the reality show fad began to fade and traditional programs made a comeback. With the advent of new technology, DVRs and the internet, viewers were now able to connect and watch their favorite TV shows in a whole new way.
